Excello Asia advises clients on corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, private equity and debt placements, as well as restructuring and turnaround situations.


Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) 

  • Focus on cross-border M&A including strategic partnerships and the acquisition or disposal of controlling and/or strategic stakes

  • Act as a change catalyst and coach within the organization to determine and advise what steps need to be taken to deliver results that meet and exceed stakeholder and management expectations, customer/supplier requirements, and the needs of its organizations constituencies

Post Deal Integration

  • Establish Program Management Office (PMO) to set integration objectives and to achieve synergy targets

 John George Raos – Non-executive Chairman

Mr. Raos is the Non-executive Chairman of Excello Asia, he is a seasoned operational
and financial executive with global management and leadership experience focused on
value creation for clients across multiple industries.


Prior to Excello Asia, Mr. Raos served as Chairman and CEO of Insulmaster Holdings
Corp (Insulmaster) in the US. He is also part of the Advisory Board of ARK Electronics
Inc., the US arm of ARK Electronics, a PRC company engaged in the production and sale
of printed circuit boards (PCB’s) in Qingdao, China.


In addition, Mr. Raos was formerly the Chief Executive Officer of Precision Partners Inc.
(“Precision”) from 2000 through 2010. Precision was a privately owned world-class
contract manufacturer of complex precision machined components, tooling and
assemblies servicing the leading global Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM’s).
Precision had operations in the US, Canada, Mexico and China and supplies the
Automotive Commercial Truck (light and heavy), Defense, Commercial Aerospace,
Refrigeration and Power Generation Industries.


From 1995 through 1999, Mr. Raos was President and Chief Operating Officer of USI
and also served as a Director. USI was organized in 1995 as a tax-free spin-off to
Hanson PLC shareholders. USI, a NYSE Company, with annual revenues of $3.4 billion,
was, at the time, an industrial management company with leading market positions in
Bath & Plumbing Products, Lighting and Hardware & Garden Tools.


Mr. Raos spent most of his professional career with Hanson Industries, Inc. (“Hanson”),
the U.S. arm of the multinational conglomerate Hanson PLC. Hanson’s operations
included Chemical, Building Materials, Forest Products, Aggregates, Coal, Propane, as
well as the industrial operations, which comprised U.S. Industries (“USI”).


At Precision, USI and Hanson, Mr. Raos participated in all aspects of Merger and
Acquisition activity including origination, finance and the negotiation of over $10 billion
of acquisitions and disposals. Some of the better-known larger acquisitions include SCM
Corporation, Kidde, Inc., Peabody Coal, Consolidated Goldfields, Quantum Chemical,
Odyssey Golf and Zurn Industries. At Precision, Mr. Raos successfully completed the
acquisitions of Electromac, MotorWheel and Berkshire Industries.


Mr. Raos, a CPA, spent five years with Price Waterhouse after graduating in 1970 from
Queens College, Flushing NY with a BA and a Major in Accounting. Mr. Raos
previously served on the Board of Xerium Technologies, Inc. (XRM (NYSE)), a leading
global supplier of rolls and engineered fabric to the paper industry. Prior to its sale to
Sierra Wireless, Mr. Raos also served on the Board of Numerex Corp., (NMRX
(NASDAQ)) a leading M2M wireless Technology Company that developed and
marketed a wide range of communications and information products and services.


Besides Hanson Plc, USI, Precision, Numerex and Xerium, Mr. Raos has also served as a
member of the Board of Directors of Dataflex Corporation, Smith Corona, United Pacific
Industries, Jade Technologies and was a Trustee of the American Management
Association.

 



Herman Heung – Managing Director, Asia

Mr. Heung has over 20 years of both industry and management consulting experience gained within international and multicultural environments. Focused industries include consumer products, financial services, industrial products, automotive, apparel, start-ups, manufacturing and electronics and communications in Asia, US and Europe. His areas of expertise include strategy development and implementation, operational improvement, mergers and acquisitions, post merger integration, fund raising and enterprise transformation.

Mr. Heung served as an advisor to several private equity firms as well as HK-listed & private companies.

He held senior positions with Booz and Company, A.T. Kearney and two other Big 4 consulting firms in Greater China. Before his consulting career, Mr Heung worked for Apple Computer in Singapore specialized in manufacturing automation and NCR Corporation in Canada.

Mr. Heung received Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and Philosophy from Carnegie Mellon University and Master of Engineering in Integrated Manufacturing Systems Engineering from North Carolina State University (Scholarship), USA.




 


Norbert Jorek – Managing Director, EMEA

Mr. Jorek has over 20 years of top level international business experience gained through leadership positions in industry and high-value management consulting, having lived and worked on all continents.

Mr. Jorek was the Group Executive Director at Murray & Roberts Holdings Ltd in South Africa. His executive experience focused on board-level responsibilities relating to corporate strategy and development, including significant experience and a track record in devising and executing transactions related to mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and joint ventures across various geographies. His experience encompasses the entire process, from the development of the strategic rationale, candidate screening and selection, due diligence, board presentations and approvals, negotiation and closing, to merger integration.

During his career as a Vice President and Partner at top management consultants A.T. Kearney, Mr. Jorek worked with CEOs and other senior management on strategic and organizational issues on the CEO Agenda, including corporate and business unit strategy, geographic expansion/globalization, restructuring, and organizational design and effectiveness. He developed significant intellectual capital on various global industry issues as well as on value growth and corporate performance (published by Business Week).

Mr. Jorek received Master degrees in business administration and economics from the University of Mannheim, Germany (Diplom-Kaufmann) and the Schulich School of Business at York University, Toronto (M.B.A.)
